Begin your day exploring Coptic Cairo, a historical area within Old Cairo known for its significant Christian heritage. According to Christian tradition, the Holy Family visited this area and stayed at the site of Saints Sergius and Bacchus Church (Abu Serga). While Coptic Cairo was a stronghold for Christianity until the Islamic era, most of the current buildings date back to the 7th century.

Stop At: Hanging Church (El Muallaqa, Sitt Mariam, St Mary)

Visit the Hanging Church, also known as El Muallaqa or the Suspended Church, which dates back to the 3rd century AD. This church is one of the oldest in Egypt and was built over a Roman fortress gatehouse, hence the name "Hanging."
